2008 Membership Drive Luau

The Original Krewe of Orpheus’ recently held its “First Annual Membership Drive Luau” under the stars and clear skies of the Covington Country Club. Although there was rain earlier in the day Lono - the Hawaiian God of Peace, Prosperity, Wind and Rain - smiled on the Original Krewe of Orpheus commanding the weather to improve in true Orpheus tradition and giving way to a beautiful evening along the Tchefuncte River. Those that attended were served a delicious dinner of Jambalaya, Salad and Upside-down Cake, along with a sumptuous “Couchon de Lait”, prepared and served by Orpheus’ own Krewe Members Billy Bragg, Mike Anderson, Steve Griffin and Kenny Booth. Orpheus’ traditional “men’s organization” was thoroughly enjoyed by all the ladies that attended the Luau. Members had a wonderful time with their wives and friends and all had the opportunity to welcome the new riders who signed up that night. The highlight of the evening was the “Limbo Contest”. Various prizes were awarded to the “Best Orpheus Limbo” female, male and couple! How low can you go? Congratulations to those that won!
